5K

Saturday, April 4th, Tom and I ran a 5k. Yeah, just a measly 3.1 miles but for me it was tough because it was only my second time running in who knows how long! Tom on the other hand has been running so for him it was simple. To make it a little more of a challenge we had him run with a jogging stroller pushing both kids!

My goal was to run the whole race without walking!

Tom was a great supporter and motivator! He normally runs a lot faster but he wanted to help me finish so he stuck right by me! I kept telling him I would be ok if he wanted to run on ahead but he didn't. When I wanted to give up he was right there cheering me on. I couldn't have done it with out him!

Not to get all sappy but Tom is that way in our every day life, my supporter and motivator along with many other things! He is a wonderful husband and I could not have done better! He fits me perfectly! I love him with all of my heart! Thank you sugar pie honey bunch!

Ok, I got a little side tracked there now back to the race.

I ran it in 37 minutes and came in 17th place for my age group out of 24. Not great but all that really matters to me is that I did it and that I met my goal, Barely!

Tom came in last in his age group and that is only because he stayed behind with me! He was first place in my book! (yes, very cheesy)

I also have to mention that our friend Mana was in charge of the whole run and so he also designed the t-shirts. Mana you did a great job! Thanks!

After the race we took Cole to the park and let him play for a bit. He was climbing, hanging and sliding on toys that were meant for 3 years and older and loved it! I couldn't believe the things he was doing!

Fearless!

One Year!

This month is our one year anniversary of living in Houston. It amazes me how much has happened in this past year. Cole started crawling then walking and we celebrated his first birthday. We evacuated for two hurricanes, moved from an apartment to a house, sold our beetle and got a CR-V and we welcomed our little Texan, Avery, into the family!

What a great year it has been! Tom has enjoyed his job, I've enjoyed being at home with our two little monkeys and we have made lots of new friends along the way!

The time goes by so quickly that I need to remember to be grateful for each day and to enjoy my children while they are still little!

Here's to the many years still ahead of us!

Missing in action!

The week Tom was gone at scout camp I was kept busy by different friends. The kids and I went to a birthday party, we went to the rodeo, I had a friend come over one night for a little girl time and on another night I took the kids and we met two friends for dinner and then went back to our house for a movie. We missed our papa very much but had a fun time while he was gone!

At the rodeo.
We stood in line for a pony ride and Cole loved watching the other kids taking their turn but once it was his turn he screamed when I tried to put him on the pony. I took him down and had him pet the pony in hopes that it would help with his fear! No luck, he was NOT getting on that pony!

I thought where he didn't even want to sit on a pony that it would terrify him to be in with a bunch of free roaming animals but I thought I would give the petting zoo a try. He LOVED it! He kept crouching down to get closer and he really enjoyeed feeding them. I really enjoyed watching his excitement! I wish Tom could have been there to see it!

So serious!

Adorable boy!
