A little after my step-sister had her son, and my sister and I were still prego, we all went as a family to Outback Steak House for dinner. While we were there adoring her baby my dad say's, "When these boys turn 5 we are going to take them to Disneyland!"
Sure enough, 5 years later, grandma & grandpa took Brody, Braxton and Cole to Disneyland.

May 8th my dad flew in to pick up Cole and spend a couple days with us. On May 10th Cole and Grandpa flew to California where later they were met by grandma, Braxton and Brody.
When I dropped Cole and my dad off at the airport Avery was so sad! Not because she wasn't going with them but because she was going to miss her brother. Aww...! Before he left I had Cole give Avery a hug and kiss and tell her good-bye. As he hugged her she had silent tears rolling down her cheeks. It broke my heart but at the same time it was so tender. She was really going to miss her big brother.

I got a text saying, "Can anyone tell which one is from Houston? And I'm not talking about Goofy! Ha!" I completely forgot about packing anything for cooler weather! Oops! |

While Cole was gone I was afraid Avery would be clingy and need me to entertain her the whole time but she played really well by herself. It was quite relaxing. I love the sound of no fighting! Me and Avery, and of course Elliott, had a lot of fun doing girly stuff. One night Tom and I took her to a movie, The Pirates, Band of Misfits. She liked it! Even Tom said it was pretty good. As for me, well, the one time Elliott decided to fuss was during that movie so I spent a lot of my time on the side lines or out in the hall. Oh well, at least Avery enjoyed herself.

It was 11:00 pm Sunday the 13th, Mothers-Day, when Cole and grandpa got back to Houston. I went to pick them up from the airport while Tom stayed home with the sleeping girls. I was just going to wait out in the car for them but I just couldn't wait! I had to see my boy! I missed him so much! So I parked and went in. My dad saw me first and I just sat and waited for Cole to notice me. As soon as he did he started running as fast as his little legs could carry him, suitcase in tow. He threw his arms around me and gave me the BIGGEST hug! It brought tears to my eyes and ended my mothers day perfectly!

For awhile Cole had been asking for his own room again. We moved him and Avery in together to make room for Elliott. So while he was gone we moved him to his own room. After seeing all of the fun things he brought home we took him to his "new" bedroom. He was so excited! As we stood there talking we woke Avery and she drowsily came out of her room. She was a little confused at first because she was barely awake. She looked around the room and as soon as she saw her brother she bee lined it over to him and they gave each other a HUGE hug! It was the sweetest moment! One of those moments I wish I had my camera but glad I got to see it first hand. Precious!

My dad stayed for another 2 days! We loved having him!

I don't think Cole missed us AT ALL, at least he didn't realize it until he saw us! He had so much fun! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa! We love you!

How cool that those cousins are all the same age (and all boys!) I bet they had a blast together in Disneyland! That's so cute that Cole came running to you when he got home. That made me get a little teary eyed ;) Such cute kids!!
